Wife and I are taking a getaway trip to Port Aransas the last week in Sept. We've been before but it's been several years ago.
Looking for places that would have the best seafood (biggest and best tasting shrimp) in the area.
Also, I plan to take a half day fishing trip. Was considering this one, as the prices are reasonable - Dolphin Dock Charters : Summer Trips
Also, was noted at the above link that there is a 2 fish catch per person limit. Is that the state regs. and the same for all charters?

Not sure if you still need this info, but I think what they mean is that you have 2 daily limits of fish. I.e. on the 2-day safari trip, you are able to bring back twice the numbers of fish that the law limits you to for one day.

What kind of price range atmosphere and style do you want on seafood? Aren't many places in Port A that don't sell seafood so the other stuff narrows it down. Dolphin is a good one. The large ships are better for sea sickness and price. If it's your first time I'd suggest doing them and then deciding next time if you want a different experience.

What I would suggest on further thought is asking the guys on the charter boat where a good place is to take your catch and have them cook it for you. After you get back have them filet and ice whatever you aren't going to eat that night then take the filets to the restaurant and have them cook them and add some shrimp. I usually get a selection of fried, grilled, and blackened. Your wife should enjoy this and it creates a reward for her having you spend half a day fishing on your mutual vacation.
