Hello. Considering a move to Corpus Christi, Tx. However, we have 2 kids who are dyslexic, including one that is severely affected and should really be in a school that teaches those students specifically all day long, not just 1 hour per day. I cannot find any of those types of school south of San Antonio using a web search. Is there any one out there who have had experience with this in Corpus Christi area and what worked for their child.

Thank you.

The only full-curriculum school for dyslexic kids in Central Texas is Rawson Saunders. I *think* that there might be something in Houston but that is it.

These school are rare! There are families at Rawson Saunders who have moved across the country for the school (Chicago, Phoenix) and across the world (Italy, Switzerland, Australia).

There are boarding school for dyslexic kids on the east coast and in Vancouver. I have known kids in Austin who have taken this option. I do not think you find anything in south Texas.

If you have Overcoming Dyslexia by Sally Shaywitz, she has a section on selecting schools and gives a list of many of the best schools for dyslexic students.

good luck

Thank you for your reply. I read her book- It is great and the YALE website is also full of powerful information.

I also saw that there is the Winston School in San Antonio which appears great as well browsing their website.

Thank you Befriend!!!!

Might call the rise school riseschoolcorpuschristi - Home Unsure of your kids ages but they teach the full spectrum of special needs kids and I'd bet have a good idea of the best places for them to go when they start elementary.
