My wife and I are visiting Port Aransas for thanksgiving weekend and would like to know about the dining options for thanksgiving day.

All I can tell you is where not to go. We made the mistake of going to the Emerald Beach hotel in Corpus Christi for one Thanksgiving when it was just going to be our tiny family. It's one of those buffets that sounds great but wasn't. The food was mediocre but expensive and they started picking up table cloths and shutting everything down before the official ending time and while we were still eating.

Hope you get some good advice.

Port Royal is a decent meal.
Venetian Hot Plate if you want Italian.
I don't know if any place up there does traditional Thanksgiving meals.

Thank you both for your responses. Does anyone know of any good diners open in Corpus Christi on Thanksgiving, we don't really care for traditional thanksgiving foods.

I don't know about whether they'll be open or not, but these restaurants qualify as diners in CC:

Town & Country
Price's Chef
Andy's Country Kitchen
City Diner aka Downtown Grill Steaks and Seafood
U&I

If you're not into traditional Thanksgiving foods, you might also try any of the Taqueria Jaliscos, or maybe even the Water Street Seafood Company or Water Street Oyster Bar.

All of the above are locally owned and may or may not be open on Thanksgiving, but you can check their websites.
