Having survived 13 years in the Middle East, moving in September, so 6 weeks or so to go. Divorced "posh" Englishman, can bear heat, 90f is a bit cool, looking forward to genuine people, not the snakes that are here.

Seems to me there's plenty of live venue bars and decent fishing to keep me busy on weekends and evenings, will be living in a condo on S Staples Street, B & J's Pizza - Brew Pub just over the road, the rest i can make up as i go along.

Look forward to catching up over a beer (not Bud Lite).

Thanks for the reply, it's been a wile since I fished in similar waters, I do enjoy Tuna mind you.

As for the humidity, yes I'm with you there, having experienced 133f and 100% humidity at times here (It's as if you need an aqualung, I'm sure I'll survive.

Any thoughts on best live (Rock) band venues?

I am not for sure if the Coastal Bend has tuna or not but theres like trout, flounder and other stuff in the bay and u can fish for other things deep sea.I dont think the humidity would be as bad as some other places but the summers last like forever in Corpus.Just stay in the refrigerated air and drink fluids and you will be fine. The summers in Texas have never been an issue for me really.I dont know about nighlife sorry.Best of luck, dude.

For Rock there's Concrete Street and House of Rock.
You can also go up North and listen to all kinds of indie bands in and around Austin.
There's probably a scene around here that may know more about it. I only know of a few places.

Well if CC is anything like this board I'm guessing it's tumbleweed central...

I'll still be there, so say hi if you see an English Gentleman in tweeds and plus-Fours with a monocle walking along the street... ;-)
