We're heading down to N. Padre Island this week (yeah...I know it's spring break but it's the only holiday my husband is likely to get anytime soon....) and I'm wondering if any of you could suggest some good restaurants to try. There will be 4 adults and two (well-behaved....) kids.

Seafood would be nice but we'd be up for anything.....

Thanks in advance!

Cotton's BBQ in Robstown, just a few minutes down hwy77 from Corpus - legendary barbeque place. It's been around for 60 years, and is at the top of my list of barbeque places in Texas. Cash only - they don't take credit cards or out-of-town checks. ATM onsite if needed.

Aka Sushi on Waterfront dr - Great little sushi place just off the beach.

Most of the other seafood restaurants I know in the area are in Aransas Pass or Rockport...

Snoopy's Pier is excellent...odd location though, underneath the JFK causeway (the road between the mainland and North Padre). Ask the locals on the island for better directions.

Also, try some Corpus Christi-style Mexican food. La Playa on SPID (Hwy 358) @ Nile Drive is good.

I second Snoopys and La Playa. Go to Snoopys at sunset, great view! There's a great pizza joint called B & J's Pizza. Its near Airline and SPID. If you go to Port A, we like Shells, Wharf, Moby Dicks, and Beach Station.

I second B & J's...

In Port A, there is a little place called Virginia's...don't know if it is still there but they had some good seafood last time I was there.

EDIT: Virginia's is still there. Here is their website. Virginias on the Bay

I also second Joe Cotten's BBQ.

Smile places to eat

The Big Fisherman between Aransas Pass and Rockport....and Charlotte Plummers in Fulton are two of my favorites. Ask any local for directions...both popular.

Ditto Snoopys - LOVE the place. Excellent food and a really neat atmosphere. Boaters can pull right up to the restaurant! And there are plenty of fish to be fed.

If you like ice cream, Scoopy's is right next door.

green, you might want to consider Moby Dick's in Port Aransas.

SeaFood, HamBurgers, Steaks, etc etc.

Excellent food, great service,
and the ambiance is..... *Coastal*...
