I don't live in Corpus but I don't think MY tax money should be used to pay off anyone that a representative of Congress or a Senator has sexually harassed or maligned in some way through his/her official capacity...
Trey Gowdy was guilty of firing someone (a male) illegally--violating government policy--as head of congressional committee so the employee sued and got 185K--of tax payer's money...
Farenthold created a hostile workplace as well as sexually harassed a former aide...85K of taxpayer money
Apparently John Conyers might also have used that slush fund...

So anyone think Farenthold should resign?
Will it hurt any reelection bid he makes?

Sure do but I doubt he does. Think Texas requires special elections so it would be vacant until then and he's a reliable leadership vote so doubt they push him out. He's basically just focused on sucking up to leadership to protect his gerrymandered seat since he won. He's totally useless as a congressman, He hasn't helped on any local issues and has in some cases been openly hostile. His laziness isn't surprising to people who personally know him. It appears he may draw some decent opponents this time so hopefully he gets primaried or loses the general(less likely). I could name a dozen Republicans that could beat him if they ran against him.

Not enough personal embarassment coming his way over this likely until closer to election
Agree he is totally useless but would go further and say as human being...

Seeing him using the Farenthold name just chokes me...

I can't stand him, even before this ridiculous payoff. But his district was gerrymandered and to draw in a large, rural, conservative vote and they don't seem to care about anything but the "R" after his name. I see him at the grocery store sometimes and it's all I can do not to slap him.
