We are relocating for my husband's job to the Corpus area and looking to move outside of the big city to either Portland, Taft, Gregory, Ingleside or Aransas Pass.

I have a 4th grader, a 7th grader and a 9th grader so I am interested in hearing about the elementary schools, middle schools and high schools.

I heard Portland has a great school district across the board but wanted to know how the other areas compare and how do they all rank against each other.

Any advice on schools in the area is appreciated!

Gregory Portland(GP) is a good district. Ingleside and Aransas Pass also do well test wise but don't have quite the same reputation mainly because they haven't been as good as long. Taft is very aggressive right now but has a poorer population and that shows in scores.

CCISD magnet schools are the best, particularly the IB program. CCISD also has more and broader dual credit programs like the high school at the community college and the tech magnet school where kids graduate with a hs diploma and aviation mechanic certificate. Those are competitive programs though.
