After looking around in alice we decided we like kingsville better. Any recommendations for apartments on the northern half of kingsville? We are looking for more modern and updated buildings. Is this area of town good or bad? Also good elementary schools in the area?
Recommendations on where we should avoid here, like if anywhere is run down?

Think Perez is the better elementary. Because of the college there a couple nicer options on apartments.

I think overall Kingsville is probably better than Alice. I don't know any of the schools, but I would think you'd want to stay away from the university if you aren't a student.

Thanks for the feedback, does anyone know much about Bishop? We found more of what we are looking for there, and schools look good but not sure what the area is like.

Town itself is small. It has the Celanese plant so I imagine school is better than average due to property taxes from it and the kids of the people who work there. Not especially wealthy but better than average. Might check drive times from Orange Grove and the west end of Calallen area. There is a neighborhood on the western end of 624 thats about a 30-35 min drive from Alice. Real estate listings will say it's in Robstown but they are unincorporated. Part is in Banquete district part in Calallen

Might consider Woodriver subdivision which is the last Corpus Christi subdivision on 624. It's about 35 min to Alice and has by far the best school district in that area, Calallen ISD

Just going to be honest for a minute... I wouldn't recommend sending your kid to Bishop if you are white non hispanic. The schools are 17% white. I went to a school that was like 40% and it was pretty hard. Tell your kids to get used to being called gringo and guero every day.
