Question I have is, how far is the Schlitterbahn park on South Padre Island from Corpus? Is it close enough to stay at the Naval Station there and drive to it, or would we need to get a hotel closer? It doesn't seem to have on-site rooms like the one in New Braunfels has.
It's about 3-hour drive from CC to SPI. You can do it as a day trip, but you'll be tired coming back.

Hey Crystal....I'd be happy to answer any questions for you. My husband and I just moved here (about 3 months ago) from OKC. From the airport, you're going to be about 15 min. from the CC beaches and about 30-40 min from the beaches on the Island. If you want to go on into Port A, you'll need to add another 20 min. or so. Leaving from where you're staying to the beaches on the Island (where you'll probably want to go...I'm pretty sure you won't want to go the the CC beaches) is like driving from the OKC airport to Edmond. Let me know what else you'd like to know and I'd be happy to help out!
