I've never heard of sea lice before:

Be careful. Especially in the bay. The article is from 2005 but it's the warming of the waters that increases the bacteria.

Re: jellyfish

I grew up there and had my share of stings, as did my brother, everyone else I knew. When we were there in May my 10 yo was stung. MSG took care of it.

Smile Port A

When we go to Port A (about once every month or two, year round), we always stay at the Sandcastle (great pool, great hot tubs, great beach area). We have to eat at Shell's (amazing, small, fresh food) Shells Pasta & Seafood, Port Aransas | MyTravelGuide.com. Service at Shell's can be spotty but the food always makes up for it. We also go to Hook's for their blackened tuna steaks (YUM!) Hooks Bar & Grill, Port Aransas - Restaurant Reviews - TripAdvisor. Again, service is spotty at Hooks also but the tuna steak is so good. We shop at A Mano mostly. we love the beach area in front of the San castle. Usually not crowded, and have never seen jellyfish. We DID see a ton of jellyfish at rockport a few weeks ago. Got stung too. blech!

We were just there in our RV at the Pioneer. I'll second the Back Porch for music and Moby Dick's for seafood. I didn't read all posts - anyone mention Port A Pizza? Pretty good - recommend the thin crust.
