I guess no cigar has a hard time reading the article he quoted above. While the condo and downtown residential market is slow, most of the article was positive news. And the fact that all these developments are even happening is great news! It's the most residential development downtown has seen in decades, if not ever. Not to mention we're in one of the worst economic times in history. Not sure what is so funny about this article??? Sorry, I can't find the humor in it.

Here are a few points I think you missed:

- Bay Vista is 90% full with another 180 units planned for phase 2. The land has already been cleared for it.

- Nueces Lofts are already 20% full after being open for two weeks.

Those two points alone mean major progress. It means we have hundreds of residents living downtown that weren't there before. How can anyone not see this as progress??? What are you missing here?

Enjoy your amazing life in Austin. We're all extremely jealous here in little 'ole Corpus Christi. I think we can do without your negativity and lack of vision and drive around these parts. You are a shining example of what holds this city back so I for one am happy to know we will have one less negative nancy infecting our city. The rest of us will continue contributing to our great city's progress and enjoy all it has to offer.
