This has probably been covered elsewhere,,, but I couldn't find it.

Are there any saltwater fishermen on the forum?

I'm a retired guy with plenty of time on my hands, although I still do some consulting work when needed. I have a nice "Flats" boat, (18' Majek),,,, and all my fishin' buddies have either died or moved away.

I'd like to hook up with some like minded guys in CC. I also like to shoot trap and skeet and have looked into a membership at the CC Gun Club. There are lots of things to do in CC, I just would like someone to be there when I catch that trophy fish. If you do it by yourself nobody will believe you when you tell the story.

If I still lived in CC, I'd take you up on this.

This thread has some promise. If you've fished in the CC area, where are your favorite spots?

I've always liked Redfish Bay.

Redfish Bay is a bit of a drive for me. IIRC, you have to launch from Fin and Feather Marina out on the Port "A" causeway to fish that area. Although I've fished there, and off Ingleside south of the channel and next to the Ingleside Navy base above the chemical plants with some success. There are some spoil banks along the ship channels bordering on CC Bay that are great for Reds, and some decent trout, especially if you can throw a cast net for some finger sized mullet bait. Those big Reds really like small mullet.

Places I like to regularly fish (read; easy to get to) are the original Boat Hole just north of the ICW, the flats around the old CP&L power station at Flower Bluff, and the King Ranch shore line. Running down the ICW to Bird Island has also been productive when the winds finally lay down in the summer months. Since I live in South CC, launching from Marker 37 is about a 15 minute drive from the house.

In either case, a bad day of fishin still beats a good day at work.
