CC missing out on a carnival on the bayfront? Is that what you think is progress. I do encourage all the development we can get, but most of you don't seem to follow the issues closely enough to make the statements you do. Landry's wanted to own the bayfront for 50 years with us footing the bill for their profit. The city tried to get them to develop on North Beach but they wouldn't. North Beach is full of tourists with money to spend and no where to spend it. If Landry's hadn't been such a pompous group, they could be making millions right now. Instead...nothing.
Whoa! Hold on a second! Im not trying to argue with anyone nor am I interested in turning this thread into a debate about the president, I just used his election as an example on how fighting for change, being proactive and hard work resulted in the first African American President ever in the history of the US being elected. So is this a personal attack against me, because i have no clue about what you are talking about. My only intention with my post was to question why those who want change in CC sit back and complain instead of doing something about it. I do not intend to get into a debate about whatever has or has not happened in CC as I am not even a resident there as of yet. So if this WAS in fact a personal attack on me, I would appreciate it if it does not continue, thanks.

Don't be so defensive. I thought you were referring to Obama's election as positive change. Because just voting for change for the sake of change is not smart. That's what he based his whole campaign on and he fooled a lot of uneducated people into voting for him simply becuase they thought they needed change. However he never clearly defines change.

My other paragraph was in response to another post. Not yours. I just forgot to reference there post. Sorry abou that. Not trying to start a debate or change this into a political debate.

Many have tried, most have failed. You'll understand the good old boy way of thinking after several years of living here.
And I'm not going there about Obama.
