Why you want the help of a hypnotist? You may look for a number of ways to quit smoking, but it all depends upon you. Only if you are self conscious, you can achieve what you want.

this is story we were told by guy who was designing house for us several years ago---
he said that he was long-time smoker from early age--he was about 60 when we met him--and that he had wanted to quit when he was in his 30s because he liked to scuba dive and smoking hurt his air capacity...and he was concerned for his future health--
so he saw a flyer for a hypnotist that was doing anti-smoking "cures"--he did not really believe it would work but he had tried stopping cold turkey and that did not work -- and at that time nicotine patches were not offered...it was usually cold-turkey or nothing...
so he went--
hypnotist did the usual things--relax, concentrate, counting backwards--to enduce the trance state--

suggestion was that anytime the guy got the urge to smoke he would also get a horrible taste in his mouth--would totally turn him off to idea of having a smoke...

snap--session was over--
and it worked--guy said that anytime after that that he felt the craving for cigarette he would also get a horrible taste in his mouth that would negate the desire for smoke...
he stopped cold turkey within a couple of days...just did not get any pleasure from smoking

he told his father who was also heavy smoker and while his dad was resistant to idea at first he gave in and went to see the same hypnotist--it took him two sessions but he too became a non-smoker

neither one relapsed--guy said it was best $50 he spent--

have offer my son in law who is smoker ANYTHING he wants if he would go to hypnotist--he has tried the patches and nicotine gum and RX from doctor that is supposed to help smokers stop by reducing anxiety that smoking probably offsets--but he won't do it...
think he is too afraid of losing control when he is in suggestive state--but I keep hoping...they want to have children fairly soon and my daughter has told him he has to stop before they have them...
she is non-smoker--never has--and we --her parents--are total non-smokers--
his family is also pretty much non-smokers--but he started in college and just can't give it up apparently...
