I gotta get my act together. Maybe, then, I could take advantage of water-side restaurants, beach activities and miscellaneous downtown stuff. It's the service at your run of the mill places that gets me down.. unfriendly, unprofessional, incompetent, high... not always but enough to register on a forum and start complaining. I got my truck out the shop and noticed something not right. An employee gave me some bogus explanation to appease me; not addressing the fact they forgot to sufficiently refill one of the reservoirs. I had to take em by the hand and explain to them what was goin on. Why should I, a novice, have to point out the mistakes of professionals? But it's par for course, here, I guess. The meat and potatoes of the issue (for me) is that CC is a blue-collar beach town and I don't fit in. This town is more than tolerable if you got some cash and can handle your alcohol... or if you're just a happy person, regardless. Me... I'm burned out. It's like Mexico where I live and I'm hispanic! That's a whole nother issue or maybe just more meat and potatoes. Hope you have a good day. I gotta figure out how to remove some overspray (paint) from my windshield.

When I was going to school in Wash. D.C. I met a Mexican girl from Taft. Her grandmother saved small change, for years, so she could attend secretarial school in CC and learn to type. You might Google her name:

Grace Flores-Hughes

My experience -- would you like to learn something today? It might make you sound more intelligent.

Anecdotal evidence is not evidence. Learn what that means. So you are not happy with your car mechanic and you believe that equates to Corpus being low class or blue collar? There are bad mechanics anywhere and everywhere -even in the wealthiest and most educated places.

Corpus has the usual mix but Texas in general has somewhat lower education that most other places. Corpus has 1000 attorneys they are pretty educated.

I prefer Rockport but there is good and bad , dumb and smart everywhere.

Not exactly spoken like a supremely self-possessed Atticus Finch giving Scout a crucial piece of advice, counselor.

Gratuitous advice:

Anecdotal evidence is evidence, it's called anecdotal evidence:

If your new neighbor likes Starbucks Frappuccino and you start seeing Starbucks Frappuccino cups littering
the street soon after they move in, that may not be enough evidence to convict them in
court, but it's certainly enough for you to have a strong suspicion.
