Is there a particular area on Padre Island (or possibly Mustang) where there are beach stores? Like small buildings, possibly on stilts, with restrooms and a convenience type store inside of them? Larger than huts. But they are literally located right on the beach, or maybe where the sandy area stops and turns into grassy area.

Where exactly is this beach located? Thanks for any info.

I guess "Padre Island" is too general. I am referring to North Padre Island. The place I remember was not too far from Corpus Christi.

Well, I found out that the place I visited was Mustang Island State Park. I guess it was a facilities house, but I thought there were more of them. Maybe there used to be more?

By the way, what's inside - is it just restrooms and showers, or do they sell stuff also?

Ozzy,

During the summer season you will find more beachy stuff near the beach around Port A. This time of year the vendors are scarce, (they are prolly skiing in Colorado about now). Come the mid-late May the t-shirt sellers will be back in force with a new crop of goodies.

Thanks. I haven't actually been there lately. Just searching online.
