Are Carnival cruises generally the cheapest? I've been on one and am going on my second this Oct., and am under the impression any other cruise line would be $500+ easy.
I went to Catalina/Ensenada on my first cruise for under $400 and stayed on the Verandah deck, inside cabin. Now I am going to Cabo San Lucas, and paid $415 for a ocean view room one below Verandah, Main? Empress...I forget.
Please tell me about your experience with Crystal, Regent Seven Seas, Silversea, Cunard, Princess, Celebrity, and Holland America. I would like to go on a luxury cruise next year, and have heard that these lines are among the best. But I'd like to hear about your first-hand experiences.
Going on my first cruise at the end of October to Puerto Vallarta/Mazatlan/Cabo San Lucas. We are sailing on Carnival and have heard good things about it. Basically we picked it because it sailed from the West Coast (shorter flight to get there) and because of the price. I'm not expecting luxury but as long as its clean and relatively up to date I think we'll enjoy it. I did read that this particular cruise will be getting a new boat next year so that should be exciting for the people sailing after March '09.
