This glowing description doesn't sound like fun at ALL.

And how do the entertainers keep 6 feet away from each other? Do they wear masks when dancing with each other on stage?

Yep, until this antisocial distancing stuff is over, and full facial nudity is back in vogue, I don't think I'll be cruising again.

“Full facial nudity” is a funny line.

Agree with you on that.

My December cruise is paid off but I still have the option to bump it out a year instead of a refund and may go that route depending on how ridiculous the antisocial distancing is. Will be researching it once RC cruising starts back in November... assuming it does.

What do I mean by ridiculous? Well, as an example my local poker room here shut down indoor gaming per the Governor's order... but outside gaming is OK so they moved all their tables outside under a military style tent. So instead of sitting at a poker table with plexiglass dividers and a mask on under a roof... I'm doing the exact same thing outside under a tent.

Does the virus float away in the breeze like that feather in Forrest Gump?

What happens if someone test positive or fails a temp test and not allowed to board how do they get back home?

It’s up to the passenger to figure that out. Hopefully they have travel insurance.

One ‘failed’ temp test doesn’t mean you won’t be able to board.

Testing positive on board (can they run these tests on a ship?) you’ll be isolated to your cabin. The same way they did to positive passengers months ago.

I hope they’re requiring people to show negotiate PCR tests before they’re able to book or board.

I'd be careful about relying on travel insurance. I just got a policy for a trip scheduled in June and anything happening as a result of a epidemic is excluded. It does cover if you personally get sick and cannot travel but i'm not sure what happens if you're sick as a result of... an epidemic.

My sister just wrote me this:

Royal Caribbean attracts 100,000 volunteers for cruise ship test runs
The president of cruise giant Royal Caribbean announced Sunday that 100,000 people have already volunteered to sail free-of-charge on their government-mandated test voyages. “And just like that…100,000 people have volunteered. We can’t wait to start this next phase with you all!” Michael Bayley wrote on Facebook. Just three days earlier, the company set up a “Volunteers of the Seas” Facebook page to attract those eager enough for a free ride aboard a cruise ship during the COVID-19 pandemic.

She said that she and husband signed up and invited me to go to website. I replied: “hard pass”.
