No cruises for the rest of 2020. https://www.msn.com/en-us/travel/new...n85?li=BBnb7Kz

I've said it before: Take the cash refund.

Just another way of saying, "We're cancelling our cruises in Nov-Dec+, ...due to lack of paying passengers and ports willing to accept shipboard travelers." Unfortunately, the cruise lines (and airlines) are suffering a devastating economic blow from COVID. exacerbated by the fact that most non-summer cruisers are older. and more susceptible.

As longtime cruisers, we will not consider cruising anywhere until a safe COVID vaccine is demonstrably working ... and even then, probably not before the end of 2021. We've looked at a discounted 60-day So. Pacific cruise in Nov-Jan of 2021, but, are reluctant to commit early (and then have to hassle with the cruise line to get our deposit/s and payments returned).

Depending on how severe COVID is in 2021, there’s a good chance that they won’t be back in service till mid 2021 or even the following year.

Not to be negative, but if covid is that severe in 2021, the economy in this country (and other countries) will be destroyed. People will not have the disposable income to cruise, and those that do will be afraid to spend it.

If cruiselines can't get back to sailing until 2022, I can't imagine that they will ALL survive. The big two - RCCL and Carnival - will jettison some of their lower performing brands. They've already dumped quite a few ships.

Some, maybe most, of the upper end and luxury lines will survive - fewer ships, smaller ships, higher revenue. MSC and Hurtegruten are sailing in Europe (albeit only Schengen citizens, no UK or American passengers) - they will survive.

Frankly, if the economy goes that far into the toilet, cruising will be the LAST thing on my mind.
