I don't know how to link it on here! It won't let me, for some reason.

That is bad. Feel sorry for the mom of the kid.

I wonder if it's real...It is so mean that I have a hard time believing a human being would write this. I can understand being peeved at hearing shrieking all the time but I would think most adults would simply write a decent letter.

The incident came to light a couple of days ago -- it took place in Canada and apparently, the RCMP is taking it seriously. Although I have an autistic nephew, it's hard for me to descrie the frustration, the repeated issues, and the special demands placed not only on the parents, but on the siblings of an autistic child.

The simply shallow, like the writer of the letter, are crude enough, but when one add the point that autism seems to be somewhat more common among the better-educated, and that a small minority view this as "God's punishment", one wonders how low some people can sink.

I have been thinking about this for several days. Something does not seem right to me. I am not saying this is the case, but many times these types of things are an inside job. An attempt to cash in.

Yeah, it reads to me like someone injecting all the stereotypes they think others have of their own child. Maybe people in the neighborhood have made them feel uncomfortable with stares and such, and she's going on the offensive to create a faux-controversy.

There was another thread about this--maybe on Parenting?

Anyway, many of us think it was neighborhood kids who wrote this, not really a mother.

Whoever it is, should be called out on it.

I hope they find out who wrote this and advertise it loud and clear, get a name to it, make it easy to google search the persons name so everyone can find out what an insensitive person this was that wrote the letter.

I mostly agree with her sentiment, but she did a terrible job trying to write a convincing argument.

I'm surprised by all the ?????????? too. Those look ridiculous.

One thing I didn't like also was how she didn't sign her name. Stand by your words or no one will respect them.
