Couple of years ago while getting my haircut from my regular barber, the guy in the other chair paid for his haircut and left. After he left, walking toward the McDonalds across the parking lot, my barber said he must have gained 100 pounds since he started working at McDonalds a year ago.

I don't think anyone thinks that the average meal at McDonalds is healthy. If you eat big macs everyday, you're not likely to live a healthy life. But to incorrectly say that it is not food is just pure ignorance. It may be low quality crap food... similar to what you get at your typical chain grocery store... but it is food.
Personally, I'm tired of all these people acting like McDonalds is the devil and while they sit on the couch weighing 300 pounds eating a bag of cookies.
McDonald's isn't that bad, what's bad are the lazy pathetic people who get fat and need someone to blame. McDonald's is a scapegoat because people don't want to exercise or get off the couch and do something.
"A high school science teacher in the Colo-Nesco School District in Colo, Iowa, says he lost 37 pounds in 90 days also by eating only McDonald's food — but he followed strict nutritional limits laid out by his students. That included limits of 2,000 calories a day and attempts to stick with daily recommended allowances for protein, carbohydrates, cholesterol and several other nutritional restrictions"

This is a bigger problem in society than McDonalds.
