Well, I consider the 21st Century to start in 2001, so my list wouldn't include the 2000 elections. But I would definitely include the Indian Ocean and Japan earthquakes and tsunamis. I'd also include the rise of Social Media (specifically Twitter and Facebook)
Certainly the earthquake in Japan since we had such amazing videos of it as far a news stores.
