Held to higher standards, for less pay. It's a crime that we have such disdain for our public servants. There's 13 pages on this thread about how terrible cops are, I would like for just one thread to be about how wonderful cops are.

We all know that a few bad apples spoil the bunch, but personally if I had two neighbors, the one on my right is a cop, and he shoots cats for fun in his back yard, on my left there's an electrician, and he likes to skin dogs alive... I feel that I'm going to hold both of them to the same standards... I just wish others felt as I do. Cops get bad publicity, some deserve it. But it's a small portion of the thousands who are just trying their best to protect your butt.

Apparently not a good police officer (as evident by previous posts as well)...

There needs to be trial.

I don't see where anyone is saying cops are terrible. But this guy certainly was. What possible defense is there for what he did? I am in no way saying all cops are terrible, and I'm not sure where you are getting that from.

There are 13 pages on this thread about how horrible THIS cop (and his partner) are. Not all cops. Should we give this one a pass because his pay isn't high enough? How does that justify kneeling on a scared dog (partner) and cutting its throat (primary offender). If they saw someone else doing that on the street, would they not arrest them?

The problem is cops are not held to the same standards as everyone else. They can pretty much do whatever they want, and get paid leave (vacation) as "punishment".

Reads like a mentally ill cop to me. Very least should be locked up for evaluation and treatment with other like minded crimminally insane.

I can understand peoples horrified reactions in this thread but can't abide by them.
