Too much media overhype. There are other, more newsworthy stories that just don't get reported.

Isn't that the case with most stories? Especially the ones posted on the Current Events board.

LOL. They're all millionaires. Is that an good sample for comparison against the general population?

I don't think the big issue we are discussing is whether they are domestic abusers or not, it is how the NFL responds to these situations.

And they are comparing "arrest rates" - how many millionaires get arrested after their high-dollar lawyers get involved?
I ain't no liberal "working man hero" advocate, but even I know that millionaires and celebrities rarely do the perp walk. Joe SixPack on the other hand...

This comparison is thus nonsense.

Why does it fall on the employer to do something immediately? Let it move through the legal system then decide.

Could it be:

?

Who is more likely to report abuse:
  1. a poor woman who lives in a trailer park with a deadbeat husband and doesn't have much to lose, or
  2. a woman who lives in a mansion, drives a Ferrari, wears expensive clothing and jewelry, and will never have to worry about money as long as she keeps her mouth shut about what happens behind closed doors? Not to mention she will be accused of lying by sports nuts who worship athletes.

Especially when that is their known stance. Typically the team does something if anything before the case is done and not the league. The issue is we have seen this happen too often in a rather short period so it's the recency effect that because a lot of things happened more recently, we think it's a trend when it isn't (take the shootings after the Aurora theater shooting for instance where we only saw a few more but not beyond the traditional yearly average.)

It's all a diversion.

Have you watched ABC morning news lately ? It's mostly "Pop" news of who's doing who and funny video's.

We sure have short attention spans.
