This is turning out to be not just a racial issue, but a 'militarized police' issue. Do you think the police are too well-armed, and too trigger-happy?

It sounds like self-defense. The kid fired 3 times at the cop and they recovered a Ruger at the scene. The dead kid was well known to the police, too.
I agree though that cops shouldn't have APCs and all that military stuff, though.
Funny how some news reports about this just shows angry black people upset over another black kid getting shot by the police. They don't mention 'gun man', but 'black teen shot by white cop' is more bait click and ad dollars.
Shoot at cop > you die.
I don't care what color you are.
So any time a white cop shoots a black person now anywhere near St Louis there are going to be protests??
I wish they would protest over black on black shooting deaths, especially when kids are involved. But it seems to be more self serving to protest when a cop shoots a black guy.
I understand the kid was a poor shot using an unprofessional firing stance and likely could not have hit anything anyways, would have been better for the officer to shout an admonishment at him and call his mother later

Pistols aren't very accurate when you have them rotated 90 degrees and try to push the bullets out while squeezing the trigger rapidly.
