"If" that's how it goes down, justice will indeed have been served, assuming that's the way the facts point. If fringe groups don't like it, that's just too damn bad.
Or, frankly, if the officer is lying (based on the facts) there should indeed be prosecution. Doesn't appear that way, at the moment, but we shall see.
Per the quoted article (above), there probably isn't any "civil rights violation," either, since that would require proving intent to violate. Does not sound like that was the case here, based only on what is known thus far.
Was reading on one of the major news sites (an opinion piece) that suggested the full grand jury testimony/transcript will be released, too, once they've decided. That seems fair, if it includes all the evidence presented so that everyone (court of public opinion) can decide what occurred.
...based on the facts. Not based on opinions and emotions of troublemakers. "Rioters" can be dealt with via the National Guard.
Separate matter: "If" the Ferguson PD requires some sort of reform, as a result of the Justice Department investigation, will be interested to ensure that, too, is completed in a fully-transparent manner. Door swings both ways, right?
