Even after a string of high-profile security incidents led the Secret Service to rethink how it patrols the White House grounds, the agency still takes what some see as a risky approach to the presidential motorcade -- relying on unpaid, untrained volunteers to drive some of the vehicles.
The New York Times reported Friday that volunteers "with no special training" are frequently used to drive vans, which hold journalists and White House staff members, in the middle of the presidential motorcade.
That is now that guy with a record got onstage with Obama and the guy in the elevator. They didn't do anything wrong in end but it just shows the need for change in secret service beyond the white house incidents. I think we will see a lot of senior leadership positions changed in the end by retirements. Should have been some firing but federal government can hardly fire anyone.
Looking back it seems there are plenty of mishaps that defy logic and common sense when it comes to things like this. Obama promised us the most transparent administration but come on...... has it always been like this with other presidents and we just didn't hear about it?
Set the numerous scandals aside that dog Obamas' Presidency and it seems the everyday misteps are just plain silly.
One would think by now the Secret Service would have their act together or are their miscues and mishaps a result of a trickle down affect from the top?
I wonder if North Korea will make a comedy movie about Obama? There is certainly enough material.
There is the real issue. That rag is nothing more these days than a shill for the status quo. The real question that should be asked, is why are these people, reporters and staff employees traveling ad hoc with a presidential motorcade in the first place. It's a waste of taxpayer money and an unnecessary complication to an already complicated operation.
