I just saw this on yahoo news.

For sale: A gun shirt so realistic that it comes with a warning - CBS News

The link is to a cbs news story about a T shirt that has a very realistic picture of a gun in a holster on it. The shirt even comes with a warning that Police may think this is a real gun so if stopped follow their directions, do not reach for the gun. The makers of the shirt are trying to get the word out about concealed carry..... I'm all for it but not like this.

Is this smart? or is this an accident waiting to happen?

1) The shirt is idiotic.

2) Since it's just an image, and the wearer cannot possibly 'draw' the 'gun', there would be absolutely no excuse for an LEO to shoot someone over it (and before someone counters with a "But what if it's dark?" excuse, sorry - if it's too dim to see if someone putting their hand on the image is drawing an actual firearm, it's way too dim to see the image in the first place).

3) Since open carry is legal without a permit in Colorado - except in Denver, 250 miles away from this guy in Grand Junction - if one wants to make a statement about open carry, why not just... you know... open carry an actual firearm?

While I think the shirt is very stupid, why would it get you killed ? Open carry is legal in many states....and a holstered firearm poses no threat.

Guess I am in the minority on this based on the above posts, but I think it's a cool T-shirt. Doubt I would get one, but I do think it's cool.

Poor taste, but there is a market for them. Anybody who is hugely pro-gun would probably buy and wear this out as a 'look at me! I support gun rights' shirt.

And that is where you would be wrong, typical of the anti gun crowd.

I actually think the market is high school/college kids looking to tweak the establishment/school administrators.

I prefer the real thing otherwise it just looks stupid. Not like the shirt is going to protect you if someone pulled out a real gun at you
