Simply put? I'm not a fast food eater, but the food tastes bad. Five Guys burgers, while priced higher, taste better. Their fries beat Mickey D's as well. Their chicken mcnuggets have way too much sodium and taste sub-par. There's just way too many options other than Mickey Ds these days.
My financial guy told me last year to drop their stock bec they were starting
up too many new stores...he said their stock is going down bec
you can't just keep building new stores.
I'm happy I did, before that all was great!
Then I heard, they were down bec of all the new classy hamburger joints like Bingo Burger, Lark, Smash Burgers, 5 Guys, etc.
Man, I haven't had McDonald's in years. Maybe six years. They're losing business because they're McDonald's. The food is not even mediocre, it's just baseline food. Does it taste like much of anything? No. Does it give you much nutrition besides calories? No. Does it stay free of pink industrial slime? Hell no.
I live in Los Angeles an have about 1,000,000 choices for burgers. There's no reason to ever eat at McDonald's. But even when I lived in the Midwest and the South I had several fast food options that were unquestionably better, by magnitudes. Give me Rally's/Checker's or Carl's Jr over McDonald's any day. I would pay to not eat McDonald's.
ok this was ridiculous- so we were heading home early in the morning and wanted to stop for egg mcmuffins and coffee- I ordered 2 egg mcmuffins and one large coffee- the guy said that will be $8.78. That seemed a bit high to me so I said $8.78? how much is an egg mcmuffin? he said- I don't know $3.50 or something- so while I was standing there waiting for my order- I looked up at the rotating ads and one came up that said 2 egg mcmuffins-hash brown and small coffee for $5.50 -so why didn't the guy tell me that? did he think I really wanted to pay an extra $3.00 just for a large coffee?-hell- I could have got the special AND the large coffee for less than I paid!
About the only reason I go to McDonald's anymore is if the local coffee shops I like are too full to read in. I can get a small coffee or hot chocolate and enjoy peace and quiet while reading since no McDonald's around me have playrooms or anything.
McDonalds is crap. Only reason it's still in business is because it's McDonalds. Food is typically garbage (except for the fries sometimes), service is almost always atrocious. Fact is, if a brand new fast food place had that low quality food and with that bad service, it would tank but for some reason McDonalds has been able to market incredibly well.
