When we started getting brutally cold winters in recent years, the left needed to move the goal post because "global warming" no longer past the common sense test. So they re-packaged it as "climate change", which dozens of former NASA scientists have already spoke up and claimed was misleading.

"Global warming" was a term coined by the media, not the scientific community. It was always a misnomer.

None of those people are climatologists and most of them aren't even scientists. The closest any of them come to climatology is meteorology, which is in no way climatology.

This post has totally missed the point of global warming which isnt disputing the globes tendency to go through cycles of warming or cooling but whether mans global use of 100 million barrels of fossil fuel per day is adding green house gases to the atmosphere at such a rate that the Earths normal cycle of heating or cooling is being adversely affected in this case an unnatural warming trend.http://climate.nasa.gov/scientific-consensus/

However the topic wasnt started to debate Global Warming but to get peoples take on the governments folly of trying to ban the very terminology of the issue.

Keep spinning it any way that suits you.

Not believing in human-caused climate change is one thing. (The wrong thing IMO, but that's not the point. ) Forbidding the use of the words itself though, is just totally stupid. How do you talk about something -- pro or con -- when you can't even use words to describe it? (And no, "weather" is not the same thing as climate.) Florida has totally jumped the shark with this one.

Spoiler
So what happened to our {{{freedom of speech}}} Gov. Rick Scott?

A voice of reason.

If global warming is such a big concern, why are nations like China and India allowed to pollute and build "dirty' power sources at a seemingly alarming rate - while people in Oregon just got a new tax, 1.5 cents for every mile drive?

If the Earth is warming, how much of that warmth is natural as the planet slowly moves closer and closer to the Sun?

Did someone forget that our planet has been slowly moving closer and closer to the Sun for those 4.5 billion years as well??

Can anyone imagine someone, who is as attuned to global warming as Al Gore is, would invest in oceanfront property?

How green is Al Gore's $9 million Montecito oceanfront villa?

Putting aside whether or not climate change is real, the Governor is the head of his agencies and is entitled to make policy determinations as he sees fit. If any of his employees have an ethical problem complying, its up to them to say so on their own behalf. However, Gov. Scott is going to pay the political price of his actions; telling his people what they can and can't say doesn't look so good to the public and will carry a political price.

As to climate change, I don't think there's much disagreement about the fact of it, its the cause(s) that is still in dispute.

Do you mean that the orbit is decaying and that is the source of climate change? I had not heard this theory before -- what sources?
