Your job is to protect the President no matter who he is or what party he is from. Your personal feelings about him should have no bearing on the job that you were hired and vetted for. If you can't do that, then you don't belong in the Secret Service.
It's a total lack of responsibility and professionalism. The SS has a super responsible job. How can discipline be so lax? These people should be fired on the spot! Then they tried to hush it up. And one of them was one of Obama's chief security people? When it goes so far up, it's usually pretty deep and wide. Didn't they just bring a new SS head? Maybe it's malfunction in Homeland Security?
Congress should investigate this. Supeonas, hearings, the whole thing. If anyone got shot or nearly shot, it would be a disaster.
Time to fix it. Not another rush job, look first then fix.
Well, I assume they had the night off, so, the drinking part is their business. HOWEVER, not calling a cab tells me they make poor decisions. They might make a poor choice while on the clock too and shouldn't be trusted with the president's safety.
No; its not just their business; they were in a secret service car out drinking. Then they wrecked it driving into a barricade. Some guards wanted to arrest them but a supervisor ordered them not to. If found to be valid then they should be fired along with the supervisor. The supervisor could be charged also with crime for official suppression. If the guard did not report the supervisor then they could also face problems; likely suspensions without pay.
