Here's one stat from the FBI: In 2013 blacks committed 5,375 murders. In 2013, whites committed 4,396 murders. Blacks are 13% of the population. [Source: FBI and Census Bureau.]
So, 56% of murders are committed by blacks. That's pretty damning for a demographic group that's 13% of the population. If you could isolate young black males (between the ages of 18-30), the numbers would go up much more.
Either you pulled that statistic from your wazoo or you can't do math.
I always thought there would be more ceremony in a old fashion southern lynching like the tried and true use of a rope instead of a bed sheet.
You also should think in the eye of a killer. If they are trying to stage a suicide, then they would probably use a bed sheet instead of the typical rope used in a lynching.

Right, but you are talking about white on white vs. black on white. The poster was talking about white on black vs. black on white crime. Totally different thing. Most black people are murdered by black people, and most white people are murdered by white people, but that wasn't the poster's point.
He's saying that when someone starts a thread that seems to lean towards a Black person at fault that they don't wait for all the facts to come out before jumping to their own conclusion. Yet these same people appear magically to want to hold a thread that might vilify a White person to a much higher standard. Like this one.
Thank you. I think they got it though.....denial is a helluva thing!
Name one country that wasn't built on the back of slavery and servitude. You can't because one doesn't exist. Slavery has been around for all of human history. The West is notable for abolishing the practice. The real injustice was segregation, but that's been dealt with. His attitude of live and let live seems reasonable to me. It seems that it has served him well as he has been successful and lived in many different places.
Sitting there feeling victimized by the past is not going to help anyone be successful. Only you are on control of your life. Treat others with respect and most will do likewise. There will always be a handful of people that are not going to be nice, but as long as they don't keep you from living your life the way you want, then who cares?
Oh so you think I'm feel victimized by the past? Slow day for you. I asked a simple question. That is, "is it racist in the south, still?" Now, I accept that I didn't write a headline that would really have gotten your drawls in bunch, but deal with it.
Victimized? You know me? Nothing about this story is about "me." Deflection on your part, could have been better. Stick around and see how victimized somebody feels.
You don't know my background. Nothing about me, but I'm a victim? You're a victim of denial.
Dead guy apparently had robbed a store, killed a woman, yet was paroled from prison, had financial problems, yet went to a casino. I'd say he crossed the wrong people or it was suicide. No racism involved.
That was a story that has been discussed and added here. It happened some time ago. He paid his debt to society. With that said, what does his prior history have to do with him being found dead? THEY ARE NOT ANALOGOUS. Don't try to make them be.
It could have been suicide, he was facing financial difficulties.
Or maybe not, we just don't know yet.
I understand that. However, I have right to speculate just like others do, when crime has occurred regarding a minority who may have "committed" the crime, rather than being the victim!"
So, whenever I want to, I will do just that. Speculate!
You also should think in the eye of a killer. If they are trying to stage a suicide, then they would probably use a bed sheet instead of the typical rope used in a lynching.
I think if this was racially motivated the killer would want to make it clear that this was not a suicide.
Yes. And PA is similar. Many undereducated white ethnics in both places breeds xenophobia. They have so many rebel flags in PA.
But the deep south has a muse or two. Injustice and marginalization are powerful muses, it would seem.
Harper Lee, Maya Angelou, Truman Capote - each a victim of the brutal bigotry that is unique to the American Deep South. Wonderful literature and music has emanated from the deep south.
It hasn't changed much.
But I can thank the deep south for the music of Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters and Johnny Cash.
"Hurt" as Johnny Cash sung. Makes for good art but terrible and tormented lives.
"Strange Fruit" sang Billie Holiday. It was about people who were lynched.
............ - each a victim of the brutal bigotry that is unique to the American Deep South...................
"Unique" to the South?
Oh, come, now. You jest.
