No persons of color on his BOD? Boy, that'll be news to Mellody Hobson, Olden Lee, Joshua Ramo, and Clara Shih.
13 to 40 percent of Starbucks are minority players.. depending upon which stat you believe.. self serving or personnel.. Starbucks also touts they like to do business with other who are minority inclusive.. putting their will upon them.. their choice their money

Lots of fancy talk about inclusion this and inclusion that while his target demographic is white upper class college kids

I am wrong about the BOD and I apologize.. I went off a source that I thought was credible and it apparently was not.. in looking at other sources there was a juxtaposition

I would never want political speak with any product I buy without my prior approval,, which is why I have never... nor will I ever.... set foot in a Starbucks

And while I acknowledge there are members whose skin are not Caucasian on their board those people are not representative of minority America... being worth several hundred million can make one pretty invisible

Dont you think?

Yes indeed, they do not "represent" the "poor" America but they are representative of minority America, by definition.

At some point of wealth, of course none of the stereotypes related to minorities will apply. That's what social studies having been saying for ages, and that's what should be mentioned when there is generalization regarding behaviours based on "race".

If the racing includes NASCAR it would be fun though I doubt hipster baristas even know what that is.

I didn't know that it was possible to be over 100 mi from a Starbucks!!

The only times I go to Starbucks as I prefer to brew my own Amazon.com : Mexican Chiapas Organic Coffee Coffee, Whole Bean, Fresh Roasted Coffee LLC (5 lb.) : Coffee Substitutes : Grocery & Gourmet Food is when I get gift cards during my company Christmas party. I don't want to engage the barista in conversation about the weather much less race relations. Just give me my coffee and zip it.

I couldn't rep you but I would have 1000 times over! Love it!

I'll add "liberal elitist"? No "elitism" is what liberals despise. That's the domain of the right wing.
We want equality.

There isn't going to be a race conversation at Starbucks while I'm in there. I'm not going to support this ridiculous corporate agenda over the wishes of the employees. Presumably they will drop this or have done so already.

Also, please don't tell Mellody Hobson that she isn't black because she's rich. She is an acquaintance of mine and, last time I checked, she was just as black as black people who aren't rich.

I never go to starbucks anyway. Don't drink coffee period. If I did I would try to avoid it since the founder and CEO and big stockholder is a tool wrong on so many issues. But if you can't avoid it there nothing you can do. Control what you can control. Control who you hire if you have a business or what contractor you use to do work. Control, what neighborhood shop you buy from if there are alternatives. Control how you vote on a jury because that is the most direct form of democracy and if you don't support a law and think it or the possible punishment that goes with it is abusive, vote not guilty. You can control who you rent or sell your house to,if it,is a good neighborhood and care about your neighbors. Control what you can control and don't worry about the rest.

Out earlier, I was asked if I'd wanna stop at Starbuck's.....
I said sure as long as they keep their mouths shut.
I was ready to take on the idiots if they started their little campaign w/ me.
I noticed that Oprah's merchandise is everywhere in Starbuck's-
(obviously the first time I've been in a Starbuck's in awhile)

I'm wondering if this is her ridiculous idea....

Btw thank God they didn't say anything related to this stupid publicity stunt.

Once I'm fired up, there's no quieting me down.
