I didn't understand the part in that story about him being sick the day of the crash and tearing up the sick form. If he was supposed to be sick that day, how did he fly ? Maybe I misunderstood that part.

I was wondering about that too. Maybe his doc just wrote Lubitz the slip expecting him to turn it in, & his superiors never even knew about the appt, much less the out sick slip. I was a flight attendant many many years ago....our appointments & follow ups were all with a company doctor - we didn't get to choose who we went to. Of course that was before HIPPA laws & patient confidentiality.

Of course, those laws that safeguard personal "privacy" are far far "more important" than the lives of all those innocent people banking on the pilots to fly the plane correctly and safely...It's just sickening.

Maybe it has more to do with him being German.

What if he didn't have one? Oh no, can't have that. There has to be some religion to blame. Can it really be possible, something like this didn't have anything to do with religion?

Wait a while, lets see how many heads implode because religion wasn't a factor in all this.

This. Not sure why he MUST have a religion. Germany has a high percentage of atheists and the only credible report I've seen that discussed his religion at all intimated that he was an agnostic.

Even if he was a devoted Muslim like some seem to wish for, there is so far no evidence that religion played any role whatsoever in his actions, no note left behind, no comments or actions that would support a religious motive or any real motive other than someone overcome by depression and mental illness.

Maybe he didn't, but then why not just say that? Why dance and hide?

Who's hiding? The investigators and German police have repeatedly stated that theyve found no evidence of any religious or ideological motives for his actions. Some people just seem to hear what they want and are waiting with bated breath to learn that he once handled a Koran when he was 7 years old.

I'm not that interested in what Merkle's investigators say about the motive. They should release the information that tgey found on this guy.
