Unbelievable.

2-Year-Old Injured After Falling Into Cheetah Exhibit

Quote:
A two-year-old boy is in stable condition after he fell into the cheetah exhibit at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on Saturday afternoon.

According to zoo officials, the mother was dangling the boy over the pit when he slipped from her grasp and fell about 10 feet into the pit.

The boy's parents quickly retrieved him and pulled him to safety, officials said. The cheetahs never approached the boy or his parents.

I'm not sure what is more illogical, the dangling of the 2-year old or putting animals in a cage all day.

I read somewhere that something similar happened a few years back where a toddler fell into a cage where some wild african dogs killed him. And parents sued the zoo saying other parents were doing the same and zoo did not do anything Can you believe it?

Yeah, nothing like people to make the argument for eugenics.

A friend of mine posted this story on Facebook. She commented "Of Course, this happens in Cleveland!"
I asked why she said that?!?
She (and I) are both kind of Cleveland cheerleaders. This city has made great strides the last few years.
She replied "Just as this city is on the rebound, we get this kind of stuff that makes us look bad...."
My reply:
I think you're looking at it from the wrong angle. People fall into animal cages in lots of places. This does not reflect badly on a city. Stupid people are everywhere. In fact, I'd say the opposite. This makes CLE look good! When I first read this I was like "that's so cool!"
Cool how, you say?
In Tampa or Minneapolis, when someone falls in to one they sue the city, the zoo, the CEO of the Zoo. In Cleveland? We press CHARGES!

"Cleveland Metroparks plans to press child endangering charges against the parents on Monday."

I don't know if it is true but I certainly can believe it.

Michael Jackson did this with his kid, but it was Paparazzi not Cheetahs. Equally as dangerous, if not more!
