Alaska Airlines uses a company called Menzies Aviation for the cargo side of their operations.

Average pay of a Menzie's cargo worker is $10 an hour.

It is likely that in order to live / survive after working four, ten hour days for Menzies at $10/hour he more than likely has another job and it might be at night.

So on any given day that he is loading cargo for $10 an hour, he is already probably exhausted.

Which would explain falling asleep inside of a cargo hold.

I can just imagine what happened when he woke up:

"Zzzzz"
"Huh, Yawn"
"Oh, f*&k!"
"Oh, f&^k!"
"Oh, sh$%"
Repeat

Mick

Well, I hope he's getting paid $0 per hour now. Being tired is no excuse for sleeping on the job, period.

More than likely? You have no idea at all what the situation is. It is also "more than likely" that this person parties all night, and is exhausted and/or hungover at work.

Exactly. Besides, I'm sure he's not the only person to have had to work 2 jobs at some point in life.

I'm pretty sure I'd have had a mini-heart attack had I been on that plane.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Imagine being a passenger on a plane and hearing a loud pounding noise under you. I just thought of the movie "Twilight Zone" when John Lithgow started freaking out after he saw a monster on the wing.

Can't 'party' when you are making $10 an hour.
