So sorry to hear about the young man, hope they catch the idiot who did it.

Don

They already caught him. The killer had the victim drive his car to his work place, then went out and killed him during his lunch hour and then went back to work. They still haven't found the gun or the killer's car.

I bought a bike on craigslist about 9 years ago. I actually went up to this guy's house in Cave Creek or North Phoenix. Anyways I don't think I will do it again. I do like the idea about meeting at the police station, but will they be able to see you?

Craigslist is now a site that I typically avoid. Very sorry for that young man.

Very fair point!

Craigslist should be removed from the internet. It's nothing but a venue for stolen goods, and an electronic bathroom wall.

I've bought quite a bit on Craigslist and have gone to the seller's home to purchase them. I also have given away things on Freecycle, with people coming to my home to get them. Never had a problem. In fact, I'm getting ready to list some items on Craigslist this weekend.

Bad things happen, but they can happen anywhere at anytime. The volume of sales/purchases that go without any problems far outweigh the few incidents that have happened and certainly don't warrant Craigslist being removed from the internet.

I sold everything I owned in my house in 2009 in Charlotte from CL in one week. I had people come over and sometimes I was alone. I never had any issues.

So very sorry to hear this story.

I have bought and sold many times on craigslist, less now though. Never go alone, always meet during the day and in public areas. We always pick a location that will be busy with people.

Out of all the times meeting, only one was a total creep. There was also another time, we went to look at a box truck we needed for our business. When we got around the area, it was pretty undesirable location and then seeing a large group of young sketchy looking men.. We just kept driving and left. Felt so uncomfortable.

Most police stations have cameras in the parking lot.
