Sure. Tasteless perhaps. But legal, and worth defending the First Amendment for. Being offensive is not "fighting words" or "incitement", it's being offensive.

You have the right to make jokes against people's mother. You have the right to insult Islam. You have the right to insult Christianity. You do NOT have the right to shoot others for doing those things. Pretty simple actually.

If a "Bad Mother Jokes" convention offends you... don't go. Real easy. Then you won't be "triggered by micro-agressions" as the saying goes these days.

The terrorists ARE Muslims. The Muslims follow Islam, and Islam instructs those Muslims to kill all infidels (non-Muslims). Stop making excuses for them. This does not mean that ALL Muslims are bad and want us dead. But for God's sake let's stop pretending that they aren't Muslims.
There are 1.57 billion Muslims. In other words, over 23% of the world population is Muslim. If you think Muslims are supposed to be killing infidels, because their religion instructs them to do so, how are Muslims not like 90% of the world population?

"The terrorists ARE Muslims". That is one of the most idiotic things I've ever heard. In that vein, terrorists are also Christian (see the Nazis and the KKK), Buddhists, Wiccan and everything else in between. However, most peaceful people would never say that terrorists are [fill in the black with whatever group of your choosing].

I think what they were trying to say is these SPECIFIC terrorists are muslims. The Islamic State... is Islamic, at least in their own eyes, and the eyes of people around the world traveling to join their cause.

They are motivated by a LITERALIST reading of the Koran. As long as there are those who take the Koran LITERALLY, there will be warfare.

By no means does this imply that all or even most Muslims support jihad. But the number is ENOUGH to make people rightfully concerned about the problem. Also, the reason they "aren't killing all infidels and taking over the world" is that they aren't capable of doing so. Before the Crusades (which despite their horrors were a DEFENSIVE measure), they were most certainly on track to "take over the world". But people fought back and pushed them out of Europe. Hindus fought back. Buddhist fought back. And the same thing is necessary today.

Until the last century and our transfer of oil wealth to them, they simply didn't have the resources to do so. Note that much of the funding comes directly from the gulf oil elite, even if not from the actual governments in their countries.

If you think CNN is slanted to the left, then you know nothing about the left. It's more like CNN slants to the far right. Fox News slants to the extreme far right. CNN and Fox News, gave the same commentary on this subject. There is no difference between the two. As someone else pointed out, they all shill for the corporate and political elite that own them. If you think there is a difference between CNN and Fox, then you are fooling yourself.

The message of both CNN and Fox is clear. Please do not provoke the Muslims, because it could lead to instability, which could hurt our corporate profits.

Exactly! The reason those guys didn't skip the cartoon event was because they needed to shot people.

These are planned shooting events to terrorize the public, that's why they are terrorists.

Their cause is extreme radical religion, they could just as well be extreme radical Christians but I would get a mouth full if I said any terrorist represented a Christian. It could be radical extreme puppet makers, it doesn't matter because there is no justification for killing people. These people just enjoy killing people first, then found said justification later.

You don't join up for a terrorist group if you don't already enjoy murdering people. They are attracting our nuts and bolts, and some were never Muslim to begin with just crazy to begin with. They would have eventually murdered someone someday, for any amount of reasons, they are crazy.

Easy answer. Just because you want to kill someone, doesn't mean you will be successful at it. And participation in such activity is often lethal to the initiator.
