Blackwater hasen't existed since early 2009 when the name was changed to Xe. In 2010 the name was changed again to Academi. Since 2014 it is part of Constellis Holdings. Its a large company that trains and provides security at all levels worldwide. Inevitably that are going to train someone that turns out to be a bad egg.

I sure we have plenty of criminals who were trained by our military... We can do background checks, but we have yet to come up with a way to do " future checks".

Hell, the CIA trained Al-Qaeda. It was great idea to train terrorists when they were fighting the Soviet Union when they invaded Afghanistan, but it's not such a good idea when they turn on you. This is why the United States is now very reluctant to give weapons to either side in Civil wars, today's freedom fighters could very well end up tomorrow's terrorists that threaten United States security.

Obama administration armed and trained people in Syria to fight Assad. Seems to have backfired on them.
