And 99%+ of the time they were killed because of the poor choices they made in life. Nothing more to it than that. As I said your hyperbole is unconvincing.

It's their job. I imagine you would prefer if we sent of a bunch of ladies from the Welcome Wagon or perhaps priests & nuns. While I would commend their efforts, these street thugs would not be deterred and would likely do even more harm.

This thread is about the officer that was buried today and the support that was given by fellow officers. There are many other threads going to display your outrage.

NYPD Officers funeral will be attended by over 30,000 police officers
It's a sign of respect for the public order. The police epitomize the maintenance of decency and civilization. That is why I am so upset when police are denigrated so badly when they use their judgment to kill some creep like Michael Brown before they themselves are killed in cold blood.

To me, it's civilization vs. anarchy; it's that simple.

The Obama administration is in bed with the enemies of our country, whether at home or abroad. Obama aims to equalize us to other countries in the world. I for one don't want my country to become a dystopian sh**hole. We have a President who aims to arm Iran so that we can be threatened. Apparently he doesn't mind weaponized humans such as Brown.

Where is your outrage when police have rallies to celebrate the shooting of innocent people with rubber bullets for doing nothing more then exercising their First Amendment rights to peaceably assemble? You people's hatred for the constitution is blatantly obvious. You routinely celebrate the violation of people's rights, but you get all butt-hurt when somebody celebrates some cop getting shot.

Your, 'police can do no wrong, citizens can do no right' attitude, is getting really old.

Yeah, but most of them were born in the police state. They didn't choose it.

Context? Were there parade or demonstration permits? Were they tying up traffic or otherwise going beyond the scope of any permits?

This thread is unbelievable. KaaBoom is stating nothing but facts and is the only person giving citations/links, but is criticized by a plethora of wildly speculative responses, of course without any links, which are dogmatic despite being full of assumptions.

Why all this completely unrelated rubbish about Obama? None of the "abuses" that have been highlighted in this thread are out of the norm of the behavior of a long line of US presidents. The populace of the US has consistently voted for abysmal candidates, not for lack of choice, and then becomes disillusioned with the completely predictable results.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Nope, nothing there about needing permits. Only that it be peaceable. So your question is irrelevant.
