The day Pam Geller stands in front of a Mosque defending it against those hostile to Islam... then I might consider a person walking down the path set by Martin Luther King, maybe.

Dr Martin Luther King had a dream -

"..that one day a man would be judged by the content of his character, and not the color of his skin."

Is that the message Ms. Geller is putting forward??

If not, or not quite, then the comparison is a travesty to the legacy of Dr Martin Luther King, imho.

Perhaps she is misguided. Perhaps her approach isn't best.

However, I see her as trying to do something. It doesn't even matter if it was in her self interest.

Think of this in terms of a slowly approaching forest fire.

Some volunteers will do the right thing some not.

Someone may even have the idea of running to get gasolene, cut down trees, and make a fire break.

What idiot came up with that idea to fight a forest fire?

With every single person began making drawings some good, some bad, how could Muslims justify killing everyone?

"Never, never be afraid to do what's right,
especially if the well-being of a person or
animal is at stake. Society's punishments
are small compared to the wounds we
inflict on our soul when we look the other
way." - Martin Luther King Jr.

Certainly Geller was completely in the moral right to do what she did, but she's not comparable to MLK because she used a much cruder, provocative method to make her point than what he did. He realized that he had to use peaceful methods because he was far outnumbered and outgunned, and even if he weren't it wouldn't do anyone good to plunge the country into another civil war.

The problem now is that there are more than a billion adherents to this primitive, false religion that encourages violence against any sort of enemy even for rather trivial matters. Most of them take their religion about as seriously as American conservatives do Christianity - that is, they are ignorant of the early history of Islam and may memorize a few proof-texts, but don't really think about them.

If they're made fun of around the world in the same sort of ways Geller did or worse, they will start taking their religion seriously and decide to rise up in jihad against the rest of us. It would be unimaginably catastrophic, bringing civilization to its knees in boundless misery and death.

It's better to do what ML King and Gandhi did, shame Muslims with peaceful demonstrations into taking up more moderate, non-violent versions of their religion.

Lets rewrite this and switch names and causes.

The day Martin Luther King stands in front of a Southern cotton plantation defending it against those hostile to the KKK ... then I might reconsider.., maybe.

So in your view, unless MLK stood up for the very people that repressed the people he should be scorned?

Look at these primary causes of MLK

Freedom, equal protection under the
law , a culture of service and charity ,
and economic opportunity for all.
............Source: WeThePeople.org

Now ask yourself does ISIS hold true to any of these?

I am open to learning. Show me examples where Pam Keller advocates causes contrary to MLK.

I greatly appreciate your interest in people as a whole and attempts to stand up and speak for Muslims. There is a great crisis right now and Muslims dying because very few people, not even fellow Muslims, are willing speak out for them.

See: Human Traffickers Victimize Fleeing Muslims In Myanmar : NPR

Notice the blame is being put on "human traffickers" when in reality people are fleeing after their homelands were destroyed.

She is not afraid to stand up against Muslims

Would you stand up against Muslim violence?
It's funny when other groups want to piggyback off the Black civil rights struggle but tell Blacks to "get over it and pull themselves up by their bootstraps" whenever they talk about issues that affect the Black community today. All she is doing is stepping over Blacks to help her own community issues. I can't respect that.

You want hate groups? Look up Malcolm X and the Black Panthers.

Study Pam Geller and MLK.

In what became known as "Project C", with the C standing for Confrontation, King and his cohorts of civic activists launched economic boycotts against businesses who refused to hire people of all races and desegregate their facilities, and began a series of marches through the city and peaceful sit-ins at libraries and restaurants that he knew would provoke the arrest of civil rights activists.

Explaining his strategy, King said, "The purpose of…direct action is to create a situation so crisis-packed that it will inevitably open the door to negotiation."

Geller is duplicating confrontational, yet peaceful events. Events object to Muslims that promote or ignore actions by other Muslims. The violence did not start with her, rather it came to her by Muslim command.

MLK wished to " open the door to negotiation" to change.

It took Dr. King many years to get to this stage and he was arrested no less than 30 times. Obviously, a very large share of Americans defended the objectionable practices. Otherwise, these arrests would not have taken place.

Apparantly a large share here object to Geller's attempts.

So what exactly is Geller attempting to change?

I don't know much about her but it's nice to see someone standing up to jihadists because we know our president won't. But it's sad to see that progressive types who one favored art now cheer when an art show is shot up.
