It might be pilfering/shrinkage, but it could also be good customer service. I bet the guy will come back to that Subway.

The real tragedy is one admitted to eating at Subway. Who really eats at Subway?

The only thing Subway is good for is calories to make a turd. The food is bland, which why you need chips as a chaser.

3. As headingtoDenver noted, I agree that he got free chips because he was flirting, i.e., "talkin' to her. Hasn't anyone ever given you free stuff, wink, wink, after you were nice and friendly to an employee?

4. If you make it a race thing (you seem to be) without objective proof, the store owner on the other side of the phone will likely be rolling her eyes about someone bitchin about a small bag of potato chips.

IMHO.

1) ok

2) next time i'll be sure to take my sleeping bag. i'll camp out and see how she handles all the black customers

3) i offered the cashier at home depot a coke while i was getting one for myself. she knocked off 15% from my bill. only time i ever got something

4) the proof is in the chocolate pudding.
