Nooo!!!

I don't like Lane Bryant clothing but I love Ann Taylor and The Loft. I don't want them to get a makeover and ruin my favorite work horse clothing line. **Sobs**

Ann Taylor bought for $2.1 billion - May. 18, 2015

Oh bummer. Loft quality seems to have already gone down over the past few years, but they are still one of my main go-to's.

It's perfect synergy, as American women get bigger and bigger.

^^^ don't forget, the clothing makers & human stick figure skinny girl magainzes are influencing the sizes too. size 20 & up was once considered plus size, now anything over a size 10 is "plus size".

Well, actually, that is because "size 10" has increased in size to what used to be size 20 due to vanity.

Quote:
In 1958, for example, a size 8 corresponded with a bust of 31 inches, a waist of 23.5 inches and a hip girth of 32.5 inches. In ASTM’s 2008 standards, a size 8 had increased by five to six inches in each of those three measurements, becoming the rough equivalent of a size 14 or 16 in 1958. We can see size inflation happening over shorter time spans as well; a size 2 in the 2011 ASTM standard falls between a 1995 standard size 4 and 6.
Women's Clothing Sizes: When We Started Measuring Them

So it's the opposite of unrealistic expectations imposed on women. In this case, at least.
