A Colorado state senator just couldn't sleep in the hours after nine people were fatally shot Wednesday night at a historic black church in Charleston, South Carolina, so he penned a letter he said "every white person" should write.

White guilt?

"a letter he said "every white person" should write."

"I drove here to reaffirm the supremacy of love, and to stand with millions of other white men who are proud to call you brothers and sisters and who feel compelled now to right the wrongs of generations past."

White men today have nothing to do with what generations past did.

No, but;

Far too many stand silently on the side in the face of today's discrimination.

Far too many spend far too much time trying to rewrite away the history of past generations.

And worst of all, far too many are more than happy to perpetuate the discrimination of their forefathers.
"If the cap fit let them wear it."

I guess it's a nice gesture, but a lot of overreactions in my opinion.

Sure, the shooter apparently stated racist things and portrayed himself as a neo nazi/white nationalist type, but that's not the real reason why he shot up that church in my eyes.

He shot them because he wanted attention, just like the Colorado shooter and the Virginia Tech shooter.

There was an article a few days back where even some neo nazi/white nationalist types were distancing themselves from the actions of the shooter.
