Really? Did Native Americans force your ancestors to speak Navajo?
No. The Colonists forced my ancestors to be slaves, forbid them to speak their native language and broke up our culture and families. I also say that as a tax payer who knows that assimilation is what makes this country function. I believe its okay to be different but don't expect others to bend over backwards for you and you have to follow the law of the land.
I believe there is a lot of reform that needs to go on and maybe people will want to stay in the US. I am currently frustrated with the need for campaign finance reform, lack of medical coverage for legal citizens and a common disregard for law and order. I used to have the mindset that illegals should be given a chance to assimilate but if you entered the country illegally, then all bets are off. The reason I say this is because it must be common knowledge that if you get here we will bend over backwards to roll out the welcome mat. It's frustrating when you are helping someone with no resources and they look at you with entitlement and disgust. Whether it is healthcare or in the education system. I'm just saying.
If given a job and the means to leave, I would, too. I would pack my bags and head right to Alesund, Norway... a place Ive dreamed about living in since I was a child.

I had friend who lived there. He's a Filipino.
He moved to Berlin after a year cos it is so boring. yes, the place is perfect and all that but other than that, its boring.
No one country is perfect they all have problems even the U.S. Admitting that the U.S is not the greatest isn't easy for some people.
Since the country's founding, the trajectory has always gotten up, whereas everyone else went through centuries of ups and downs. Being top dog is a huge part of the national identity. Most Americans don't want to let it go, after all the US has no history. But then the US is in deep economic quagmire, mass debt etc, the rest of the world wants Americans to keep their head in the sand.
Land of the free ... to move to another country? A recent poll of 2,000 adults concluded that 35% of Americans would consider quitting the US and living abroad. That number jumps to 55% in the 18 to 34 demographic, per the poll by Transferwise, a UK-based money transfer service.
Likely the same 1/3rd who don't have passports and have never even been outside the country.
(I say that with the perspective of an immigrant, now citizen, who lived in a number of countries before coming here).
And on that subject, there are, literally, millions of people around the world who would certainly swap their citizenship for a USA citizenship. Perhaps the government can set up a swap meet? Then you'll fund how many are just talking out of their a$$.

BG7- Will you share your experiences of living in different countries? i.e.. How you were able to move to these places and the difficulties or ease of living with the natives. Thank you.
