Just a guess but maybe it's because people feel uneasy about the idea that anyone can be the object of guilt by association or at least be accused of such even though they may be innocent.
We don't know whether or not Jared is guilty of any wrongdoing. He has not had his day in court and yet because his associate has been found guilty Jared is being investigated. Even though the trial has not yet begun, already he is being punished for crimes this associate has committed.
So if it can happen to Jared, who appears to be a pretty nice guy, who is to say it can't happen to you or me? This would be providing, of course, "you or me" have nothing to worry about in our choices of with whom we chose to associate.

Sure I would. If you were in the news and I read the story about this happening to you I would be thinking "Oh that poor guy, I wonder if he is innocent or guilty and it is troublesome that his home was raided if he really had nothing to do with the crime."
The point is, if you made the news and I saw it, I would be concerned because it could happen to me or to anyone and that's one reason, as I said, many people may be concerned about Jared's ordeal. It makes no difference as to whether I knew you or not. I am not speaking about people who are feeling sorry for Jared himself but about the people who are concerned about the circumstances in which he is finding himself.
Notice I said this might be one reason. As far as Jared himself goes, he has done personal appearances and people have met him and thought him to be a genuinely nice guy. So that could be another reason why they are sympathizing with him.
It looks like he knows that his crap has just hit the fan and his feces will be everywhere . He couldn't even look the dude in the eyes nor the camera that caught him getting in his lawyer car. Anyone of us would have been pissed and said this is bull sh#t. You are losing endorsements. Your kids were home at the time. You wake me up with 30 detectives in front of my home. Wtf.

Agree. Bill Cosby has done wonders for people's moral so nobody wanted to jump to conclusions. Just like with Jared. But after seeing Bill was not as honorable as some thought; People may now start to question the reasonable doubt aspect of honorable people that are on a less famous scale.
I'm just surprised that any evidence would still be there if the other guy was caught months ago. I wonder if postal inspectors intercepted a package that he was sending or receiving to help hide evidence. Idk
