I guess they'll have to put up trigger warning signs at the flea market entrance.
Quote:
A shopper perusing the merchandise at the Redwood Country Flea Market was so offended by a vendor selling Confederate and Nazi historical memorabilia, the person actually called 911.
Wallingford, Connecticut police were dispatched to the flea market to investigate.
They should be charged for wasting the time of the police. The level of ignorance some people display never fails to amaze me.
Exactly
The 911 system is for true emergencies, not stupid stuff.
I know the local non emergency number of my police department in case I need to reach them for something that is not a treat to life, limb, eyesight, or significant property loss.
I guess I was just raised differently than some of these fools which think 911 is for something other than true emergencies.
Frankly, I partially blame the police and DA's who do not arrest and prosecute the offenders. The more that happens, the greater deterrence of these fools abusing the system.
She's not that nutty. There's a higher probability that someone selling both confederate flags and nazi flags is involved with a white supremacist group, whether directly or tangentially. The cops like to keep tabs on these people. There was a local case where a german bar was hosting a bunch of guys in Nazi uniforms for a "historical re-enactment" group. Someone inadvertently ran into it and freaked out to the local press and police. Turns out it was legit nazi sympathizers and half the guys actually were career criminals from racist biker gangs who had moved here from Illinois.
Having been in EMS for 20+ years as a paramedic, the trivial things people will call 911 for do not surprise me. I got called to two drunks one night at 2 am because they had run out of beer. For them, it was an emergency and I was supposed to go get them more.
