Frankly this is indefensible. A judge's duty is to execute the law, their personal and even religious beliefs have no baring in the executions of his or her duties.

Imagine if this was a Muslim judge, refusing to deal with a woman or with an 'infidel'.

My reaction would be the same - that such an action would be completely and totally unacceptable.

But you know there's legions of hypocrites 100% behind this judge, who would hysterically wet themselves if a Muslim judge similarly cited his religion as a rationale for discrimination. They're narcissists, who just want their way all the time and don't care one bit if there's any logic behind the way they pick and choose which parts of the law should be followed.

Wouldn't this be discrimination just the same as the wedding cake scenario?

Also, as one of the commenters on the article said, what happens when a homosexual comes in front of him in a case. Can he still be fair?

Discrimination, yes. The big difference being that the baker is not oath-bound to serve ALL citizens. So IMO, the discrimination is even worse in this case.

You might want to send that to the White House and see if the same exemptions they use might apply here.

Just because you perform a ceremony doesn't mean you agree with same sex marriage.

I think we are going to hear a lot about people refusing for a few months. Then it will be old news.

No need, the Federal courts will take up the slack. Nothing like a contempt citation to wizening up the legally confused.
