Positive for you perhaps.Negative for me and millions of other people. There was no need to do that on the white house. It should not have been used as a political/social commentary tool.
What next?.Advertising the next beyonce single maybe.

The Confederate battle flag that flew at South Carolina's statehouse for more than five decades came down on Friday, in a historic move marking the end of half a century of controversy.

On Thursday afternoon, South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley signed a bill that ordered the removal of the flag from the Statehouse, after a racially fueled attack on a historic black church in Charleston that left nine black parishioners dead.

Now, the organizations that had imposed economic boycotts on South Carolina for flying the flag are reevaluating their stance on the state after its removal. ...
Confederate Flag removal may mean an end to South Carolina boycotts
NAACP, NCAA, & UAW are among the organizations that are considering lifting their boycotts.

It was explicitly used to represent a cultural and political resistence to the abolition of slavery and any other form of racism against a whole group pof people. So, when certain southerner says it is his/her "heritage", then you might want to define that heitage for him/her and ask again if that's what he/she wants to be assocuated with. The fact that this issue took so long to resolve is a real refelction of the racial problem we have in this country.
I think part of the challenge is that it's difficult, if not impossible, to begin to solve a problem if one denies the problem exists.

Furling this flag is a symbolic gesture just as the decision to fly it.

Everyone has lifted their "boycotts" but to be honest, they really didn't have one. UAW? No one cares. NAACP? No one noticed. Seriously, black biker week is HUGE in Myrtle Beach and has been for years and years during this supposed boycott. NCAA? We've had NCAA tournaments here during this supposed "boycott" so that wasn't exactly true either. Those "boycotts" were symbolic at best and ineffectual. All hype and for show. Nothing more. It will make no difference in our state, which has already been growing by leaps and bounds right along with our tourism. Just want to keep the media honest on this one - something they seem to have very little ability to do for themselves.

Excellent news!

It's a symbol which never should've been allowed to exist, after the Civil War. Long overdue.

Thank you President Obama for causing CHANGE.

LOLOLOLROTF. Where is the rolling-around-on-the-floor-laughing smiley?

Someone doesn't know that Republicans weren't responsible for putting up that flag, and that Democrats weren't responsible for taking it down.

ROTFL!!! These boycotts were a joke. They were absolutely ineffective and nobody even thought about them. As a matter of fact, I had even forgotten about the boycotts until they were mentioned yesterday that they would call them off. Thanks, NAACP, but it doesn't matter anyway.
