Again, according to the article, profits from the song are being donated, DONATED. They aren't making money off of it.
Kid Rock waved the confederate flag during some of his concerts, way before this PC crap, some busy bodies protested, demanding he stop doing this at HIS concerts. So yes it is protesting PC and he probably sees the flag as a symbol of rebellion. Like most folks he doesn't equate that flag with racism.
It's still part of his branding of being a "rebel." It's all image. He just knows if he kowtows to people who think the confederate flag is awesome that he'll be able to get money from them. It usually works, too.
Alice Cooper is a super nice guy who goes golfing with my elderly uncle. His "branding" certainly wouldn't reflect that, though. Being from the midwest, I doubt Kid Rock really and truly connects to the confederate flag in any meaningful way at all. Just my take on it.
Oh but if they were both Negro [ not sure I can say black] musslim or spanish giving the $$$ to a [ insert same race here cause]
Would it be all right ???????????????????????????????????
you are 100% correct, its a good thing that uncle ted and kid are spreading their intelligent, common sense and good taste to those that need it.
Bwahahaha, good taste? I'm thinking you've never listened to Ted's music. Unless, of course, you think songs about having a threesome with mom and her underage daughter is "good taste". Then, well, a LOT of things suddenly make sense to me.
And what a paradox..... Kiss my REBEL ass!, yet I am proud to be American?! I don't get that logic. I support ISIS, but I say I am a proud American, is that possible?
I love how people blame the "PC-Nazis" for ruining the Confederate flag, and not the white supremacists who twisted the meaning of the flag in the first place.
If it was truly a cherished symbol of Southern Pride, you should have taken issue with racists using it, instead of turning the cheek for 50 years then playing the victim card when the consensus finally considers it offensive.
This is it. Not a peep out of them when the KKK used it.
Well they need something to try and resurrect their careers.
The don't need to resurrect anything. Both of them make more money playing a 90 minute show than most Americans earn in a year.
